Last week I learned of the passing, at the age of 91, of George Prince, a personal hero of mine and one of the individuals responsible for the development of what I think are some of the most fundamental and important ideas underlying facilitation.

I had the great good fortune to attend several workshops run by George and his wife, Kathleen. Every time I was with George I had one of those aha! moments that are rare and unforgettable. I'm also pleased that luck took me to Boston last year and that I had the chance to visit with George one last time.

As one of George's colleagues has said on the Synecticsworld website;
"Not everybody gets to watch a legend change the way that people learn, behave, think, and interact...If you have ever asked a spouse or a friend, what was behind their question or asked a colleague to say more about an idea they had, you are carrying George’s DNA through your life. There is no counting how many interactions, business and personal, that have been more positive, inspired and productive because of the work that George pioneered."
For several years I have thought George's work was not as well known as it should be. I would encourage you to have a look at George's obituary in the Boston Globe, the tribute on Synecticsworld website or at George's own website. I have provided the links below. Even at a distance George can still inspire.
