Dear Colleagues,
You are warmly invited to the IAF Affiliated - Australasian Facilitators Network conference, November 25-27, 2009 in the beautiful city of Nelson, New Zealand.
Our conference theme is Te Pitau Whakarei – Creating a Bow Wave for Facilitation.
See the conference website for details and to register: www.afn2009.net.nz (http://www.afn2009.net.nz/)
Scholarships available.
Expressions of Interest for 1&2 day Preconference Workshops
The Conference Creation Team is delighted to call for expressions of interest (EOI) from facilitators interested in providing one or two day pre-conference workshops from Monday November 23 to Tuesday November 24, 2009.
The team has set the conference theme: Te Pitau Whakarei – Creating a bow wave for facilitation. This includes a vision of facilitation grounded in land, culture and community, rippling and flowing. For us this implies a focus on facilitation grounded in places and connected to business, government, organizations, and communities.
We invite potential presenters to consider these themes when submitting a proposal. Founders Heritage Park, the conference venue, will be used for all concurrent workshops. Workshop spaces accommodating from 10 to 100 participants are available. These are in historic buildings of considerable character and workshop providers will be assisted to select options that best meet their needs. Multiple work spaces can also be made available. The conference will post approved offerings on the website and include details on all promotional material. We also provide morning and afternoon teas and lunches.
Participants will be able to register for your workshop through the conference website (www.afn2009.net.nz (http://www.afn2009.net.nz/)) and we will handle payment of fees and invoicing participants. There will be a standard rate for participants of NZ$480 for two-day workshops and NZ$300 (both GST inclusive) for one-day workshops. Providers receive half the fees collected and the other half covers the venue cost and services. You will need to meet the costs of materials, your travel and accommodation and other incidental costs incurred. The number of pre-conference workshops approved will be limited to four or five to ensure that all providers have a good opportunity for attendance.
Your proposal must include a title, the learning outcomes you would expect from the workshop, a workshop description, how the workshop fits with the theme of the conference, any required resources and a short bio of the presenter(s). We also recommend that the proposal include reference to the IAF Core Competencies incorporated the workshop. You can locate these competencies on the link below.
